Warm white lights against the backdrop of romantic and picturesque vineyards. That’s what guests of the Bucks County Wine Trail wineries will see when they visit local wineries this holiday season as part of the second annual Light Up The Vines vineyard illumination.
This festive, understated beauty will be on display from Dec. 4 through Jan. 2, 2022 at six of the Bucks County Wine Trail wineries. This year’s Light Up The Vines event features more than 85,000 soft white lights combined at our wineries – approximately 25 percent more lights than last year’s inaugural event – giving wine-lovers near and far even more reason to stop and take in the glow.
Things to know
The Bucks County Wine Trail wineries are a short drive from Philadelphia and New Jersey and about 90 minutes from New York City, making day-tripping to bucolic Bucks County an easy feat.
Light Up the Vines is a free event. All are welcome to attend. Fees will apply for food and wine purchases.
We recommend allotting a weekend or an overnight stay to allow enough time to sample award-winning wines at each of our seven locally owned and operated wineries. In addition to wine tastings, Bucks County features a bounty of fine dining choices, as well as great shopping at an array of unique shops in nearby Peddler’s Village or New Hope, a walkable shopping and cultural hub.
Light Up The Vines FYIs
Light Up The Vines kicks off the evening of Saturday, Dec. 4 following the wine trail’s annual Holiday Celebration. Most wineries will switch on their lights to debut the grand illumination at approximately 5 p.m., however times may vary by winery. To be sure, please contact the winery you plan to visit for specific timing.
As part of the Holiday Celebration (Dec. 4-5), wineries will feature mulled and seasonal wines, fire pits, holiday music, cookie sampling, food truck fare and special pricing on wines and holiday gifts, (making it well worth the while to arrive early for Light Up The Vines). *Please note that offerings may differ from winery to winery. Please call the winery you plan to visit for more details. **Vino By Zzino will be participating in the Holiday Celebration, but not Light Up The Vines.
Since space is limited, fire pits and seating will be available on a first come, first served basis. Especially during the kickoff weekend on Dec. 4-5, guests may want to bring blankets and/or their own chairs.
Groups of six or more are encouraged to make a reservation to ensure adequate accommodations for wine tastings.
Following opening weekend, the Light Up The Vines holiday illumination will continue each evening at dusk through Jan. 2, 2022.
